Road closure Edward Street w/c 1st November
From Monday 1st November, essential utility gas and water connection works are taking place between Edward Street and the site at Edward Street Quarter and this will involve carriageway closures and the installation of temporary traffic lights either side of the site. The works are being carried out to allow for the final mechanical and electrical services to be commissioned at the development and will last 2 weeks. We apologise in advance for this work and the inconvenience it will cause, as there will be additional traffic congestion onto Edward Street but the work is essential for the construction works on site to continue. Please note your domestic gas and water supplies should not be affected.
Temporary traffic lights will be set up at the junctions of roads leading into Edward Street including White Street, John Street, Dorset Street, George Street, Dorset Gardens, Dorset Place, High Street, Baker Street and Chapel Street so either side of the dual carriageway will be affected. The roads will remain open throughout this 2 week period and there will be access onto Edward Street, however there will be traffic lights onto the dual carriageway which will cause traffic congestion. Parking in your roads will not be affected but please note the traffic system will remain in place until the work is complete.
The traffic management plan described above has been approved by Brighton and Hove Council; however we apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
