Planned works / Update

By on

As you are aware we have continued working on the Edward Street Quarter scheme over the past 7 weeks, albeit at a much reduced capacity in order to align with the Safe Operating procedures laid out by the Government. This week has also seen the original restrictions and guidelines partially lifted.

During this period, we as a company have tried wherever possible to limit or restrict any excessively noisy works. In particular with regards to the breaking out of the slab obstructions our operations team have sought to employ alternative methods of removal such as using silent diamond drilling, hydraulic munching and altering the structural design elements of the building wherever possible, all of which has seen mixed results

Some of these methods have worked well and we have been able to continue with the groundworks, however we have now reached the point where all the options have now been exhausted meaning that we have a need to carry out a limited amount of breaking to the concrete slab.

Therefore we are writing to inform you that we shall be carrying out some breaking works to the slab on the following dates

Thursday 14th May 2020 – between the hours of 1000am to 1500pm

Friday 15th May 2020 – between the hours of 1000am to 1300pm

Please be assured that this work is being carried out as a last resort and we hope to limit further such activities until the lockdown measures are lifted further. As ever we will seek to limit the transmission of noise as far as possible, but is inevitable that some noise and vibration will be experienced.

The works will be closely managed and supervised at all times during these period however if you have any concerns or questions then please call the project team on 07866 009475
